WASD 20's Mountain Range Method

As a conceptual framework, I really like how the dice are used to develop a visualization of the mountain range.

Start off by placing dice around your map. Think of how the land mass formed when you arrange your dice.

Trace around the dice to give a general idea of where your mountains will be. Now create ridge-lines within those boundaries.

Create slope lines at the point where the jagged ridge-line changes direction.

Choose a direction that light will be coming from. Then shade the opposite side.

Darken the lines on the ridge and slope to contrast with the shading. This also makes the mountains more distinct.

Once you have decided that your line work is finished. Use a pen to finish the mountain range.
